Producers to go on Strike in Tollywood
Tollywood to Shut down

Latest News from Heroinesonly.blogspot.com

The Telugu Film Producers council (TFPC) is going to shutdown the tollywood industry for 6 months unless the actors come down and reduce the remuneration for films.

Tollywood's producers held an emergency meeting recently and issued an ultimatum to the artistes in the form of a letter -- In view of the rising cost of production - suggest steps to reduce expenditure. Otherwise, a 6 month shut down of the tollywood industry would be the only option, it said.

With regard to this warning, the Movies Artistes Association (MAA), which represents all actors from heroes to villians and comedians of tollywood, has convened an emergency meeting of artistes on Monday (26th-april) to discuss the matter.

The meeting is to be held under the leadership of actor N. Balakrishna.

"We have got a letter from the producers council. Nearly 200-artistes, including the top rung, have been sent messages to attend the meeting," Maa joint secretary Maharshi told to our correspondent.

Tollywood produces nearly 200-250 movies a year-- most in any language in the country.
With this strike, there would be a lot of loss for the industry.
